Audio Description

This is a large acrylic painting on stretched canvas. The canvas measures 60 cm tall by 80 cm wide or 2 foot tall by 2 foot 8 inches wide. It focuses on one gnarly old tree in the middle of the canvas with other trees and branches depicted to either side. The branches of the tree are complex, winding and intertwined and cover the upper part of the artwork. This picture was created by impressing wrinkled plastic wrap into watery acrylic paint which creates lots of complex organic-looking striations and this effect has been used to create the bark of the tree and to suggest the shapes of the branches. This is detailed in the video below. The background is an abstract one of pale yellow, pale green and pale blue irregular shapes seen in lieu of the sky and the branches and trunk of the tree have been painstakingly outlined in black acrylic pen.  The complex, organic lines evoke the tree's age and wisdom and the abstract rendering emphasises texture and space. This picture invites the viewer to explore the deep, layered structure of nature in a bold and expressive way.

This picture is supplied varnished with an ultraviolet light-protective varnish which protects against fading and discolouration with time. It is supplied complete with a 1 cm white stain wooden floating frame. These frames are like shallow boxes or trays in which the picture is mounted with a 3-4 mm 'shadow gap' between the frame and picture. The pictures are affixed using velcro so can be repositioned within the frame or removed to flush mount the frame on a wall. The artwork is supplied ready to hang with D-rings and cord. It comes complete with a certificate of authenticity. .
