Why Commission an Artwork?

Looking for a truly personal piece of art? Whether you'd like to celebrate a beloved pet, or create something unique for your home, I'd be delighted to work with you to create an original artwork inspired by your ideas.

Commissioned artwork makes a unique and thoughtful gift for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, retirements and other special occasions. A bespoke piece of art in the right colours and proportions can also really make a room.

The Commission Process

1. Get in touch with your ideas.
2. We'll discuss size, subject, colours and budget.
3. I'll prepare a quotation and estimated timescale.
4. Once you're happy, work begins.
5. I'll share progress updates where appropriate.
6. Throughout the process, you'll have the opportunity to discuss ideas and provide feedback so the finished artwork reflects your vision while remaining true to my artistic style.
7. Your finished artwork is carefully packaged and delivered.

Commissions - Light

My offer to you is that if you suggest a subject and I like it I will produce an artwork and will notify you first when it's completed. If you like it you get the first opportunity to buy at standard prices, otherwise I will add it to this online gallery. Also, if you see something you like here, but would like it in a different colourway, orientation or size (or other changes), let me know and I will see what I can do on the same basis. So, not a commission as such (or at commission prices - which can be double regular pricing) - let's call it commission-light!

Pet/Animal Portrait Commissions

Pet portraits can be undertaken on a commission basis. The examples below are of animal portraits in pastel and using collage. Broadly speaking commissioned work is charged at twice that of non-commissioned work (ie: look through this website for sizes and media you prefer), and payment is required in full or a deposit of 50% to secure the booking. Additional charges may apply for more than one animal, more than a head and chest, and for complex backgrounds. Allow a few weeks turnaround. Get in touch via the Contact page to discuss specifics.
