This abstract collage/acrylic painting depicts scattered or falling glittery maple leaves set against a deep purple background. This piece started as a colourful collage to which successive layers of a red-tinted glaze were applied negatively painting around the maple leaf shapes. A glitter varnish covered the whole piece before applying the final negatively painted purple acrylic paint. A video detailing the process can be found here.
