Description

This is a large acrylic painting on stretched canvas. The canvas measures 60 cm tall by 80 cm wide or 2 foot tall by 2 foot 8 inches wide. This artwork depicts a plant-like structure that resembles flowers or funghi but with a distinctly otherworldly quality. Each 'flowerhead' has a textured green and yellow centre surrounded by a soft pink-violet halo at the centre of which is a large black stamen. The disc-like 'flowers' emerge from intertwined, thick, green patterned stems which branch upward in an organic but geometric rhythm. On either side of the main cluster are delicate, trailing, tendril-like forms bearing small, seed-like pods, enhancing the sense of biological strangeness. The background’s clean white surface enhances the vivid contrast of the forms, while the purple outlines unify the composition with a rhythmic, almost cellular energy. In brief, plant-life but reimagined in a fantasy context!

This picture is supplied varnished with an ultraviolet light-protective varnish which protects against fading and discolouration with time. It is supplied complete with a 1 cm white stain wooden floating frame. These frames are like shallow boxes or trays in which the picture is mounted with a 3-4 mm 'shadow gap' between the frame and picture. The pictures are affixed using velcro so can be repositioned within the frame or removed to flush mount the frame on a wall. The artwork is supplied ready to hang with D-rings and cord. It comes complete with a certificate of authenticity. .
