Luminous Depths

'Luminous Depths' evokes the feeling of drifting through a mysterious underwater world where light filters softly through shifting layers of colour. The composition features an intricate tangle of organic, seaweed-like forms that glow in warm amber and gold against deep green and teal water.

The left side of the painting is dominated by a large, branching mass of organic shapes — its veins and networks reminiscent of sea kelp. This form appears closest to the viewer, pulsing with warm ochre and golden tones that contrast beautifully with the surrounding cool hues.

To the right, the forms dissolve into the water — ghostlike echoes of the foreground seaweed drifting in teal and turquoise atmospheres. These distant structures are softer, more diffuse, almost as though illuminated from behind by filtered ocean light.
