Woven Measures

This collage is a richly layered, woven tapestry of patterned paper strips arranged in an intricate grid. The strips vary widely in color, texture, and design—ranging from cool blues and greens to warm reds and neutrals. Many strips feature distinctive motifs: florals, zebra stripes, geometric shapes, typewritten text, stars, hearts, marbled patterns, botanical prints, and sections resembling vintage measuring tapes marked with numbers.

The overall composition resembles a hand-woven textile or a patchwork quilt, with overlapping bands creating depth and rhythm. Occasional black rectangular frames punctuate the layout, adding visual anchors amid the dense patterning. Despite the complexity, the piece feels balanced through its repeated blues and natural tones, giving a sense of organized chaos and crafted harmony.
