A floating frame (also called a tray frame) is designed so that the artwork appears to "float" inside the frame rather than being pressed against it. The artwork is separated from the frame by a narrow shadow gap, creating the illusion that it is suspended within the frame. This elegant style reveals the full edges of the canvas while adding depth and a refined, gallery-quality finish.
