Les Fleurs

This black and white acrylic illustration on paper features a striking composition of abstract roses and foliage. Bold contrasts and detailing give the piece a dynamic, graphic quality, while the monochrome palette highlights the intricate forms and flowing rhythms of the plant-like shapes. The abstracted nature of the flowers and leaves allows for open interpretation, with each curve and contour suggesting motion and life. Elegant in its simplicity, the artwork offers a meditative exploration of form and balance, blending natural inspiration with a modern, minimalist aesthetic. This artwork started life as a 'stamp' using scrunched up paper dipped in black paint that then suggested this image to me. The process is detailed in this video.
