This black, white, and grey acrylic print/illustration on paper presents the dramatic silhouette of stag antlers framing a luminous full moon. The stark contrasts between the deep blacks, soft greys, and radiant whites evoke a sense of mystery and reverence. The antlers, both majestic and imposing, serve as a natural portal to the moon, suggesting a connection between the terrestrial and the celestial. The work explores themes of strength, solitude, and the quiet power of the night, where nature and the cosmos meet in an ethereal embrace. This artwork started life as a 'stamp' using scrunched up paper dipped in black paint that then suggested this image to me. The process is detailed in this video.
