Turtles All The Way Down

This abstract monochrome print/acrylic drawing on paper depicts three turtles from the mythical stack believed by some to support a flat earth. The minimalistic composition focuses on the layered forms of the turtles, rendered in bold contrasts and geometric abstraction, evoking both the weight of ancient myth and the simplicity of this fantastical cosmology. This artwork started life using the technique of decalcomania (whereby a film, canvas or paper are pressed into paint). This image was then suggested to me by the result and worked in black acrylic pens.
