Hellebore Halo
A celebration of one of winter's most elegant flowers, Hellebore Halo reimagines the Christmas rose through layers of hand-cut collage, and richly patterned papers. Three luminous blooms emerge from a mass of deep green foliage, their creamy petals and golden stamens glowing against a jewel-toned background of violet, plum and magenta.
Part of my Aureole Collection, this artwork on a cradled wood panel is inspired by medieval halos and illuminated manuscripts, with the softly radiating geometric form behind the flowers suggesting both light and reverence. The result is a contemporary botanical portrait that blends the elegance of Art Nouveau with the spontaneity of modern collage.
Rich in colour yet quietly contemplative, Hellebore Halo captures the resilience and beauty of a flower that blooms when much of the garden lies dormant, making it a striking statement piece for interiors throughout the year.
