Dr. Evermore's Cabinet of Modern Wonders

Step into the extraordinary world of Dr Evermore, where scientific ingenuity, miraculous remedies and fantastical inventions promise to transform everyday life.

This richly detailed mixed-media collage imagines the collection of an eccentric Victorian enthusiast, bringing together antique books, botanical illustrations, exotic butterflies, curious apparatus and vintage advertisements for everything from dream pills to electric vitality machines. Each shelf reveals another discovery, inviting you to explore a world where the boundaries between science, fantasy and extravagant commercial promises are delightfully blurred.

Once hailed as wonders of the modern age, these ingenious inventions and improbable remedies have become fascinating relics of a bygone era. Ornate detailing, faded colours and layers of vintage imagery evoke the atmosphere of an old curiosity shop, while the sheer abundance of intriguing objects rewards repeated viewing.

Part imaginary museum, part celebration of human ingenuity and part affectionate nod to the eccentricities of progress, this is a work to discover anew each time you look.
