I am pleased to announce that ArtPlacer have selected Winter Sentinel as a Featured Artwork on their Discover Artplacer homepage (somewhat prematurely, as it happens)
- part of my forthcoming Aureole Collection, a series of mixed-media collages celebrating the quiet beauty of winter in Britain. Each piece combines carefully selected collage elements, arranged within a circular aureole that suggests both reverence and light. These aureoles were often used in Art Nouveau which, in turn, had drawn inspiration from the halos often depicted in Byzantine art.
Inspired by winter gardens and the resilience of nature, Winter Sentinel depicts a robin perched among evergreen foliage beneath a luminous moon. The familiar garden visitor becomes a symbol of hope, endurance and the small moments of beauty that brighten the darkest months.
