Otherworldly Odyssey
This abstract acrylic artwork on stretched canvas, rendered in subtle hues, depicts an imagined organic form. The soft colour palette and fluid lines suggest a natural yet otherworldly shape, inviting the viewer to interpret the piece as a reflection of growth, transformation, or the essence of life itself. This work was created using the plastic wrap technique (where plastic film is placed into watery acrylic paint) which produces interesting organic-seeming forms. A video detailing this is available here. I set out to create an artwork in a pared-back colour palette, and the finished work suggested itself to me after the initial stage. This picture practically painted itself and pretty-much all in one sitting (which is unusual).
