Burgeoning Blooms

In this striking acrylic painting on deep, stretched canvas, three large purple flowers take center stage, their richly textured petals exuding depth and drama. Set in a simple glass vase, the blooms appear both grounded and luminous, as if caught in a moment of quiet elegance.  This piece is a celebration of floral stillness — intimate, vibrant, and timeless. This picture was produced using a combination of the alcohol technique whereby alcohol is sprinkled into watery acrylic paint creating 'cells' and the plastic film technique where creased plastic film is impressed into watery acrylic creating interesting 'veins'.
