Peacock Promenade

The collage evokes the elegance and mystery of a peacock's train using layered, torn and cut pieces of printed deli paper. The artwork is dominated by the concentric patterns of purple, teal, turquoise, blue, and gold of the peacock's 'eye' on their tail feathers creating a mesmerising, rhythmic visual. The radiating lines and repeated feather shapes suggest motion, like a fan unfolding or plumage shimmering in the light. The golden strands that encircle each feather evoke a sense of luxury and delicacy, emphasising the intricate nature of peacock feathers. The images don't quite capture the iridescence of the artwork which changes with the light.
