Night Guardian

What is it about a barn owl that captivates us? Perhaps it's the silent flight, the ghostly white face emerging from the darkness, or the sense that it has been quietly watching long before we arrived.

In this video, I share the creation of Night Guardian, an original mixed media collage from my Aureole Collection. Inspired by Britain's most enchanting nocturnal hunter, the artwork combines layered collage and rich textures to celebrate the owl's quiet strength, wisdom and enduring symbolism.

Every fragment has been carefully selected and placed to build depth, light and atmosphere, while the radiant aureole evokes a sense of reverence, transforming an everyday encounter with nature into something timeless and iconic.
