Golden Sovereign

A richly layered mixed media collage celebrating the dazzling splendour of the golden pheasant. Built from hand-cut papers, the composition radiates with jewel-like reds, turquoise blues and glowing golds, set against a tranquil teal background. A softly weathered aureole, embellished with antique script and ornamental motifs, frames the bird, lending it an almost sacred presence.

Surrounded by lush botanical foliage and berries, Golden Sovereign evokes the quiet majesty of nature while drawing on the decorative elegance of Art Nouveau. The interplay of colour, texture and collage transforms the familiar into something timeless and symbolic, inviting the viewer to pause and appreciate both beauty and craftsmanship.
