First Light

Part of The Aureole Collection, First Light is a celebration of emergence, renewal and the quiet optimism of the first days of spring. Delicate snowdrops rise from a richly layered botanical collage, their white petals glowing against deep greens and a red/blue ground.

At the heart of the composition, a radiant golden aureole surrounds the flowers like the first light of dawn — a visual symbol of illumination, awakening and new beginnings. The snowdrops appear to push beyond the circular frame, suggesting nature breaking through boundaries and winter giving way to spring.

The deep blue, greens and warm cream, create a palette that feels both contemporary and reminiscent of vintage botanical illustration and decorative arts. Ornamental foliage and small celestial motifs echo the aureole imagery, giving the piece a sense of rhythm, symmetry and ceremony.
